In its 42nd year, South Texas’s largest music, culture and heritage festival “BorderFest” . Each year, the festival has paid homage to a different country, bringing a bit of its culture and history to the Rio Grande Valley.

BorderFest showcases the diversity of cultures in South Texas, highlighting the rich history and vibrant customs of local peoples. Thousands of volunteers, local residents and international visitors come to the Rio Grande Valley to experience the ultimate celebration of community.
This community-wide event is held every year on the first weekend of March and staged by the City of Hidalgo. It has progressively molded into a global event celebrating a different country each year where guests have the opportunity to explore various forms of educational entertainment and exhibits.
